Pinterest projects....

Pinterest projects that even *I* will not attempt. Because it's either crazy hard looking or it crosses my laziness threshold.

We'll start with
#5. Chrysanthemum mirror. Made out of plastic spoon ends. I'm pretty sure this is level 100 craft ninja and I'm not sure I'm brave enough to attempt this. It's beautiful and very sneaky that it's not fancy and store bought but wow. Maybe I can just pay her to make me one? This is from Kristi at AddictedtoDecorating and you can find the tutorial for this here. If you decide to make me one, can you make me one too? I can pay for it in fresh bread.

#4. Glittered Pumpkin. You have got to be joking me. They weren't lying when they said 'glitter is the herpes of craft supplies.' I LOATHE glitter. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous but for goodness sake keep it about 50 feet away from my person and my home. I made the mistake of bringing yellow glitter in the house for Sunny's 4th birthday party to make Tangled decor and I'm pretty still picking yellow glitter out of the carpet, my skin and the couch. Just no. This is from the HGTV and the tutorial can be found here.

#3. Snowflake tulle wreath. It's very pretty, but such beautiful snowflakes are not a thing that exist in my dollar store. Plus they use super extra cheap glitter, which is a million times more contagious to nice embossing Martha Stewart glitter that I used. Since I always make an effort to credit photos and items I make, I clicked on the pin to go to the website. Where she basically tells everyone there IS NO tutorial because she made them to sell. All right, fair enough. I wasn't going to make it anyway. But, point made. If I post a pic, I either have a tutorial, or I link to one for other's to use. I hate, HATE dead ends pins. So I'm not including a link.

#2. Silk flowers suspended on water. Now this has the potential to be a very cheap and beautiful addition to my decor. As well as wet. And messy. And I would regret it. But still, I want them. Apparently they are a wedding idea. Which makes more sense. This would make a gorgeous (and inexpensive) center piece. You can find out more about how to do it here

Can I just take a moment and say that it's a lot harder for me to find items on pinterest that I WON'T make than I would make? I'm seriously struggling here right now, but I think I can pull out one more.

#1. Crayon wreath. Does anyone have a kid, who would not rip this down in the first five minutes to use it as an elaborate color wheel? Seriously. What a waste of good crayons. I'll only buy crayola and those things are not cheap compared to their counter parts. I'm not going to glue them together and hang them from the door. I'm going to use them to color with my kids. Put the glue guns down for just a moment and step away. Now go color with your kids. Or have a 60 second dance party in your living room, however you roll.

What are those one or two items you'd love to make but never will? Did you buy it instead? I wanted a mesh wreath at Christmas really bad, but for the price of JUST the bolt of mesh I needed, I was able to buy one pre-made at Walmart. Ah yes please.

  1. I pin things like crazy to make later and sadly I don't think I've gone back and made more than 5. I am just too busy but there are so many cool craft ideas for kids that I think I am going to *try* to make at least one a week with Logan.

  2. Those melted crayon canvas arts, like you said, a waste of good crayons! They are cute, but I wouldn't make it.

  3. LOL I think there are a TON of things on Pinterest that I look at and say "How cool is that? I should make that" and then I laugh and laugh at myself because..... no. I am lucky if I can actually cook and clean and do my crochet! But I totally respect people who can do this kind of crafty thing. And my kids would tear up that crayon wreath in 5 seconds flat.

  4. Pinterest makes me feel inferior!
