YAY!

So we have a small occasion to celebrate! If you look down and to the right you will that I have.....
FIFTY TWO SUPER AWESOME MEMBERS! YAY!

I was really excited to break 50 and as you can see above I celebrated by making a new heading for the blog. So thank you all VERY much for that and I promise not to give a speech.....you know, except for the rest of this post. So let's make it 100 AMAZING MEMBERS. When we do, I'll make a FB fan page. Once that is set up, I think an inaugural giveaway is REQUIRED :D So let's go. Share the funny with your friends. Want to be a guest blogger? Hit me up!

Also an update on my relay for life fundraising. I have raised $40 of my $150 goal. I got $20 in donations and matched them. Thanks so much! I have three days left, can you help me get there? You can help me out here and the minimum is just $5. Do you have $5? I am still matching donations, and every little bit helps <3

This weekend I will FINALLY be posting the pictures of all the fun stuff I've been working on since March that had to be kept all HUSH HUSH for the baby shower. Get ready for a photo bomb, TONS of crafts and awesomeness. Until then my loves.

Fluffimama out.

This may come as a surprise to you...

Sometimes, it's hard to know what to write about. If I haven't had a spectacular recipe lately, or a big event to blog about, sometimes I just don't know what to write about. I know some of my bloggers use current events, but it seems like they find all the cool ones, and all I can find is crap about the facebook ipo (do not buy, btw!)

That was, until I came across this.

OMG. I can't handle the cute!

How did I forget about that sweet little girl whose paternity was just a matter of national concern (it feels like yesterday). I imagine that was part of her dad's master plan. There's no way to get her out of the spotlight completely, but it seems like he's doing a good job of not letting it take over their lives. I looked through the album, and there are a lot of pictures where he is scowling. Which I can understand. It's hard enough having a little girl who you have to teach about the world. I can't imagine having to do it with cameras following constantly.

That being said, I loved looking through those photos. Watching Dannielynn enjoy the derby, a street fair and the park. I adored ANS, and if she can't have her Mom with her at least she's got her Daddy. It looks like you're doing a damn fine job Larry Birkhead, keep it up :) And.....thanks, for putting up with the camera so we can get a glimpse of your sweet girl growing up :)

Why do I relay?

Ok lovies, back again with more relay stuff. I know, I know! Here's the thing, I have a fundraising goal of $150. I have 18 days left to get there. I am going to make a deal with you. Do you have $5? Because if you do and you donate it to my personal page, I will match it. All I need is 15 people to donate $5 and I will match each donation up to $75. It's a win-win!

In exchange for this, I will embarrass myself. Thoroughly. And maybe my Aunt too, but I've always thought she was beautiful so she gets the better end of the deal.

This picture was taken almost 21 years ago TO THE DAY. 5 year old me,
posing with my Aunt before she left for her prom. She went with her boyfriend
Rob, who is now my Uncle.  Yes, I am wearing a unicorn sweater.

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say I was
10 years old here, making it 1995. Like my Bulls shirt?
This is my Aunt Traci as I remember her as a kid.
She was my favorite person in the family because
she was old enough to get things done, but young
enough that she still played games with us kids.

So there. This is the reason I relay. For girls who love their Aunts and want them to be around for a really long time <3

Please consider a donation, I will never be happier to spend $75 than to match your generosity <3

I'm BACK, my lovelies. For more hilarity and for you to soak up my love of writing. Greetings. First order of business, there will be no giveaway. The only comment I got was from a friend/family member on FB and as MUCH as she rocks my socks, it's not really a giveaway if she is the only one entered. Not even a single comment awaiting moderation. I do have a comment button right? Penelope is NOT pleased.

My favorite time of year is upon us. Which means swimming pools, the smell of charcoal in the evening, a cold Shandy in my hand and my BIRTHDAY.  So in honor of my last 27 days of being 26, I'm doing a top ten things I want for my birthday post.

We'll start with number......
10. Disaronno. This bottle is bad ass. Not only is it top shelf amaretto, but I totally want to display the bottle when I'm done. It's GORGEFUL.

9. Weed B Gone and Round Up. My yard is one giant weed, gone severely out of control. Some spots need nuking and others just....natural selection. I would like both of these, preferably in backpack form with a sprayer.

8. Oven Grinder. Hands down my FAVORITE place to eat. EVER. End of story. Have you been there? WHY NOT?!

7. A butt kickin' heavy duty dust buster. I'm a Mom with small children. MESSY small children. And it's soooooo pretty!

6. A garden cart. Or wheel barrow type dealie. I want to do more work in my yard and feel this is the key to doing it and maintaining my current level of home laziness.

5. A Tardis coffee mug.  I feel like I don't need to explain this one.

4. A sonic screwdriver. Have you met me? And yes, I need this.

3. Lifetime supply of singulair. So I can do all that yard stuff. Kthanx.

2. Light up shutter shades. Who doesn't want these?!

1. ALL THE SHE SILVERSTEIN

I'm feelin very artsy today

I have found a new love. My new love is paint pens. Paint pens allowed me to do this.
It makes me want to replace all my dishes with different custom painted ones. For serious.
I could pick up a green marker and add leaves to this tree. Blue for the sky. But I kind of just love the look of the black on white. I want to do one for 'Oh the places you'll go' now. I'm even thinking of opening an etsy store to sell these :)

Relay for life 2012

Ever since I was a kid, cancer has been a big part of my life. My Aunt Traci had cancer as a kid and I remember growing up everyone telling me how strong she was and how she fought and won. We had a 5 year remission party for her when I was young. So young in fact, the only thing I remember was that I was given the responsibility of putting a can of cheese and bag of pretzels on a table. Words like cancer and remission were a normal part of my vocabulary from a young age.

On the other side of my family, another Aunt, my Dad's sister Mary had brain cancer. I don't know when she was diagnosed, but as far back as I can remember, my Aunt Mary having brain cancer was a constant. She had multiple surgeries but never got any better.  I didn't get to see her as much as I would have have liked given they lived in Georgia. Some of my favorite pictures were of her, my Dad and my Uncle; their parents even. Pictures of people I hadn't met or hadn't spent enough time with. I could imagine that way, make up stories about what they were like. She died in 2006.  Her husband, my Uncle, died a few months later from lung cancer. I hadn't even known.

Has cancer touched your life? A friend, an aunt? Your mother? You? I'm walking on my Aunt's team for relay for life, and every donation counts. The minimum is only $5. Do you have a spare $5 sitting around to go a good cause? Please consider donating here. Thank you <3
