Detangler

Thing 1 requested a Tangled birthday party this year, does not surprise me one bit.  This has been the year of Rapunzel and since I love the movie, I've gone along with it.  That leads me to my latest project.  A non-commercial Tangled party.  Yeah, it's as easy as it sounds....

Thanks to my cricut, glue, glitter, cardstock and craft cloth I have made 22 floating sun lanterns.  I have made a purple sun flag banner.  They are GORG.  Totally Tangled in a non-tangled way.  I made the invites myself using Tangled pics, photoshop and snapfish.  The kids will play pin the pan on Flynn Ryder with printed frying pans and a Flynn Ryder Wanted poster (AH TY Snapfish).  We'll have the Tangled soundtrack playing in the background and the kids will get to decorate sun cookies.  There will be twinkle lights, tulle and flowers.  I think the only Licensed* Tangled products I am going to buy are a couple of foil Tangled balloons.  Am I the only Tangled Mom left wondering why they haven't made a balloon that looks like the floating lanterns from the movie?  I would buy those.  In bulk.  Because they float.  My homemade lanterns don't float, they will hang.  But if there were lantern balloons, I'd buy them.  *IN MUR.THUR.FUR.KING. BULK*

I'm making cupcakes for party 1 and ordering a cake for party 2.  Wait WHUCK.  Yeah, 2 parties.  I figured two small parties would be better than one SUPER HUMUNGO party.  Saturday is friends, games, pizza & cupcakes and Sunday is family for cake & ice cream.  I won't reveal the party favors though, because I'm quite pleased with them.  I ordered them on eBay today.  I got the idea from one of the other SAHM DIY'ers who threw a similar Tangled party (also for her 5 year old).  Just know that it's a really cute idea and I am really REALLY excited for Thing 1's birthday parties :D
